I'm so thankful you're here 🌻
This moment in time, reaching this milestone means so much to me beyond what anyone can imagine.Â
You know that well-known quote, "If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough," by Ellen Johnson Sirleaf?
Every time I saw that quote, I'd think, "Eh. I get it, it's true. None of this nor these goals scare me, though."
Being someone who is strong-willed, follows their dreams, and embraces their voice over other's opinions requires an amount of courage.
I had never felt scared of anything I'd ever done.
I didn't feel scared choosing to double major in college and advocating for myself, even though people tried to talk me out of doing it. I never felt scared to pursue art as a life and career. I never felt scared to have clients. I wasn't afraid to travel out of the country for the first time, and that first time was by myself. I wasn't scared to move to Baltimore, a new city for graduate school. I never felt scared of making art with my hands that goes beyond human scale and putting it into the world.
I've felt full-body, indescribable fear that was related to my dreams twice.
The first time was on December 7, 2022, when I hit "Share" on the Instagram post announcing my business's vibrant grace studio launch. The second time was four days ago when I announced that the vibrant grace studio shop was finally coming this week.
Both moments were terrifying. It's still scary. But it's the best type of being scared that I'm thankful to have now experienced.
And while it's been scary, I've also always understood why.
If you've known me for a while, you know that I've always wanted to make products since I was a child. In elementary school, I used to sew pillows by hand, make greeting cards for loved ones, and dream of my art on fabric. My pretend line back then was called "allei"—all lowercase with a heart ♡ over the 'i.' People who love me have been waiting practically my whole life for me to start this, and I have, too.
vibrant grace studio was first launched in 2022, and trust—I've done a lot of work through services since then. But between then and now, I have also done a great deal of training, therapy, and internal work to be ready for this new phase and to put this out into the world.Â
vibrant grace studio has and continues to require a new version of me. It requires me to show up in the world in a way that aligns with my best, higher self. It requires me to do some failing. It requires me to be vulnerable in new ways. It requires me to know my flaws and build better support around them. And in the past couple of years, it has required a lot of healing to focus on me, my dreams, and the actions behind my doing.
All of that growth + more has brought me here. So, no, I have not been actively working on physical products for the past ten or two years. But I have been building, preparing, and evolving. So this moment is a special, turning point.
vibrant grace studio, both the hub and the shop, embodies my past 10 years in this career and lessons learned.
After years of desire, dreaming, growing, healing, and manifesting, I'm excited to finally rip the band-aid off this to get to the play, experimentation, and product growth excitement.
I hope this inspires someone to trust their path. Trust the small steps of growth you take daily. Trust that the small leaps and experiences add up. Trust when it's time to change. Trust that your purpose will challenge you. Trust that what has the capacity to change your life will shake you to your core. Trust that we all have to fail sometimes—reassess, try, and try again. Trust that your internal healing and growth are worth putting first, even if you must make sacrifices that impact how the outside world views you.
"The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough."
